Medical Imaging
In medicine we use things like X-rays, Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) and Computed Tomography (CT) to look inside the body. These images give us information that would be difficult to get in other ways. In the past, this may have meant surgery.
Most people will have medical imaging at some point in their lives. The type of imaging used will depend on the information the doctor needs.
The aim of this website is to provide information on the types of imaging used and the radiation risks.
There are sections aimed at patients and healthcare professionals.
This website would not have happened without the help of many people, please see the acknowledgements for more details.
